I know this because.I've done it as have others like Lukemon here. If you have a computer close by or laptop that can be set to a 4k resolution and has an HDMI out then hook it up to the tv, set the res, set the refresh rate to 24 or 30hz and you'll see 4k video as long as the hdmi cable is a 1.3 version or later. ![]() ![]() Yes, the signal needs to be 30hz or less for these TVs to show it but you can easily set a computer's refresh rate to output at 24 or 30hz. Just like a tv doesn't have to have the codecs that blu-rays use or say MKVs if using a media player or a built in gpu if playing xbox/playstation video games on it since those devices are doing the processing, the tv doesn't have to have the codec to display 4k video from a computer since the computer is doing the processing. ![]() Click to expand.What I mean is the device does the processing of the content in question and then simply outputs the signal to the TV in the 1s and 0s.
